What's Happening: Cocktail Party for Longstanding Visitors

Reception at the Prime Ministers House for long stay visitors

We were so kindly invited to the Honourable Prime Minister's residence, Illaro Court for the cocktail reception to celebrate longstanding visitors to the Barbados! The night  was a lovely celebration of the island and it was so interesting to meet all the wonderful people who love Barbados as much as we do and look forward to their visit every year. We got a chance to chat with some of them, find out more below...

Why they love Barbados: Simply the people!

Sheila & Brian McBeth at the reception for long standing visitors in Barbados

Name: Sheila and Brian McBeth (Ontario, Canada)
Visiting the island: Since 1974 and have returned for the last 4 consecutive years 
Why they love Barbados: The weather and warmth. Love the people at their hotel as they know everyone and are booked to visit for the next two years.

Name: Mary and Carl Breyer (Massachusetts)
Visiting the island: Since 1968 as they first visited for their honeymoon
Why they love Barbados: It's a home away from home. They love to explore the island, including visiting places like Sand Dunes and Soup Bowl. They love the people and of course the sea.

Why they love Barbados: Sun, beautiful people, music, food, and they get to meet fellow Canadians and friends.

Why they love Barbados: Diversity of activities, the people and it's a safe island. 

The turn out was fabulous with a wealth of visitors that not only love visiting Barbados but also call our island their home away from home!

hi, at what time do you become a long standing visitor Grace and i have been coming to Barbados for the last 22 years and only missed twice in that time and those two times wished we where both back,
we love Barbados, the people make it special,even this years we landed at Christmas day and heather who works at coconut cars actually came down to the airport with our car on Christmas day, i dont know many people or places that would do that .
mind blowing how great the Bajans are
Barbados is a special place and those that visit know this and return and are hooked
we travel all over Barbados and every time find something new
we have stayed all over the island from Silver sands ,divi southwinds Harpers villa (this is a special place for us really like it as its in with all local people all real friendly people)villa on sandy lane sugar hill etc
i also think that visitors need to get out and about to see the real Barbados and there people
As you can tell Grace and i are Barbados freaks love your country to us it is like coming home Thank you Barbados ans all the Bajans that live here
