Cooking Bajan Style: Baked Chicken

Bajan Baked Chicken Recipe

We have to admit, it has been a while since we shared one of our "good ole" Bajan recipes with you. However, today we have made it extra special with one of our favorite dishes that we guaruntee you will make over and over again - our famous Bajan Baked Chicken. Not many Sundays pass by in a Barbadian household that a chicken is not baking away in the oven, the aromas of the fresh herbs, local vegetables and a sizzling chicken infusing the air. Take a look below for a family recipe we want you to have.

The Crane Beach, Barbados

We can say that The Crane Beach is one of the most famous beaches in Barbados and is renowned as one of the top 10 beaches in the world by Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. Along with its ever growing popularity, The Crane Beach also has quite some history. In the 18th cenutry it was considered improper for ladies to be seen bathing in public.

Speightstown Pier

Speightstown Pier Barbados

Located in the heart of Speightstown, just a stone's throw away from the famous Fisherman's pub is Speightstown pier. Currently under construction the pier cannot actually be explored, none the less it really is a beautiful sight to behold. Running far into the ocean you can just imagine all that happen on this pier, from proposals to picnics. We anxiously await its re-opening so both locals and travellers alike can once again experience it.

Explore: Wildlife Reserve Review

13th May, 2013
Peacocks at Wildlife Reserve Barbados

This Northern attraction is the only reserve on the island, some may call it a zoo but we think reserve is a much better and informative term. The Wildlife Reserve has been open since 1983 and is run by Jean Baulu along with his friendly and hard working staff.  To give you a little background on Mr. Baulu, he is a primatologist and came to Barbados to study the behaviour of the monkeys and assist in controlling the population of these animals. They ended up assiting the Government and stabilizing the population and in the meanwhile created this santuary.

What will You treat your mum to this Mother's Day

Cin Cin By the Sea Barbados

Abraham Lincoln once said "All that I ever am or will be, I owe to my mother" and this could not be truer for many of us. So in lieu of the day, we celebrate our very fabulous mothers, here are some of the most special ways to show her what she means to you:

Weekend Getaway: The Crane Resort Review

8th May, 2013
Classic View at The Crane Residential Resort

A couple weekends ago Melanie and I decided to stay at The Crane Residential Resort to have a bit of a 'time out' and see what the resort was all about. We both have been there prior, however not since all of its additions and extensions. It is simply amazing that such a beautiful, luxurious and 'complete' resort has such charm and history attached to it. Not one of those cookie cutter models, evidence suggests that the Crane Residential Resort is in fact the oldest operating hotel in the Caribbean Region, and its beach, well is 'to die for' of course.
