Barbados March Events 2013

Already we are into the third month of the year- March! Take a look at what's happening on the island this month! 

Barbados March Event 1. Barbados Sandy Lane Gold Cup- This event is hosted every year by the Barbados Turf Club and is known as one of the most prestigous horse races in the Caribbean. This year is the 33rd annual Sandy Lane Gold Cup and the Gold Cup race is a 12 horse race with Caribbean and International horses competing. Come out and cheer them on. Barbados March Event 2. Barbados Polo Season The BPC Barbados Open 8-Goal Tour- This event will be held between the various polo clubs on the island on the following days: Mar 05: At Apes Hill, Mar 07: At Lion Castle, Mar 10: At Lion Castle, Mar 12: At Holders, Mar 14: At Holders, Mar 17: At Apes Hill - FINAL. All matches are 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm and there will be Afternoon Tea on sale and a fully stocked bar. Barbados March Event 3. National Trust Open House: Goveror General's House St. Michael- The National Trust hosts the Open house events and on the 6th March this splendid 18th century mansion in which the Governor general resides will be open for viewing from 2:30PM to 5:30PM. Please note that admission for this event is $30.00 BDS (general admission), $15.00 BBD (children 5-10 yrs), $25.00 BBD (BARP Members), $20.00 BBD (Members of the Nartional trust presentation of membership card). Barbados March Event 4. Oistins Fish Festival- This event will be held on the 30th and 31st March and commemorates the signing of the charter of Oistins, along celebrating the life of the fishing folk. There will be many things going on at the festival, from steel pan entertainment to a classic car parade to different cultural competitions. Note that the admission is free so come out and enjoy the event at Oistins Fishing Village.

Barbados March Event 5. Holders Season- This event will be held at Holders House St. James and will start on the 9th of March and run through until the 23rd March. This theatrical and musical festival will feature Russell Watson who has sold thousands of albums. Please note that the dress is Elegantly Casual. Barbados March Event 6. Fabbagirls- This event is hosted by the Rotary Club of Barbados as a fundraising event and will be on the 23rd March at the Concorde Experience starting from 8:00 PM. Fabbagirls is a ABBA Tribute band which will be performing the classic and popular ABBA songs we all know and love. Also, making an appearance will be the band Brass Soul. Admission for the concert is VIP Bds $200.00, Special seating $150.00, General: $100.00 and you can buy tickets are the following locations: Globe Finance, Rendezvous; A&B Music Supplies, Sheraton; Party Occasions, Sheraton; Carlton Supermarket, Black Rock; Emerald City Supermarket, Six Roads, St Philip. Barbados March Event 7. The Canadian's Womens Clubs 9th Annual Food Festival and Charity Auction- Come out and mingle with your friends at this lovely charity auction and food festival and sample the food and drinks available. This event will be held on 17th March at Lion Castle Polo Club and starts at 1:00 PM and ends at 5:00 PM. The silent auction is from 1:00 PM to 3:15 PM  and the Live Auction starts at 3:30 PM.
