Many people think you have to be rich to visit Barbados! I mean we are not a particularly cheap destination, however if you plan your trip right you can not only get by, but have a fabulous trip! We thought we would help you by suggesting our top five free things to do in Barbados! With no further adieu, here are our picks for the Top 5 Free things to do in Barbados.

1. Self Planned Island Tour- Barbados is the perfect place to have a self guided island tour. Once you have a rental car and a map you are good to go and explore our little rock. The best coasts for island tours would be the South East, East and North East coasts of the island. Here are some interesting places which you can visit on your island tour- Bathsheba (Soupbowl), Codrington College, Cherry Tree Hill, Morgan Lewis Windmill, Cove Bay, Little Bay, Martin's Bay and there is so much more to explore!

2. Beach Picnic- If you are in Barbados, you have to take advantage of some of the stunning beaches across the island. Why not arrange a beach picnic? Pack up some yummy eats and drinks and head on your way! Here are our picks for some great picnic beaches- Foul Bay Beach, Pebbles Beach, The Crane Beach, Paynes Bay Beach, Accra Beach. 3. Evening Stroll on the Boardwalk (South or West)- The boardwalk is a relaxing activity that you can do in the day or evening. Usually the evening is much nicer as you can see the lovely sunset and enjoy a cocktail whilst watching it. There are a few bars and restaurants along the boardwalk, both on the South coast and West coast. You can have a stroll on the boardwalk or use it as a form of exercise. Basically up to you and what you want to do on vacation! 

4. Oistins at Night- This is a one of a kind, authentic, cultural experience that you cannot miss. The most popular night is Friday night where Oistins comes alive with music, food, entertainment and much to see and do. It is a great place to "people watch" and sit back and enjoy the Bajan culture. You must also try the fish- the Red Snapper, Swordfish and Mahi Mahi are good options!

5. Bridgetown- The capital of Barbados is Bridgetown, where you can discover the history and heritage of our island. Bridgetown has recently been named a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can shop on the famous Broad Street, people watch by the careenage or just walk around and explore the town.
