Restaurant Reviews: Place to Relish in Barbados

16th January, 2013
Relish Epicurea

You walk in Relish Epicurea and immediately feel refreshed and vibrant. Bursting with energy, this busy atmosphere is filled with shoppers packing their baskets with fresh produce, international as well as local knick knacks and diners indulging in the simple and freshly prepared food. At Relish we feel there a uniqueness about being able to walk in and easily purchase fresh, simple food whilst also shopping for quality ingredients that you can find no where else on the island. Spearheading this operation is the very eccentric Alison Kern, who enthusiastically welcomes you to her delicatessen. Her passion for fresh, quality food shines through not only in their products and menu but also in the whole ambiance.

Relish Epicurea Barbados

You have a choice to either dine in the air conditioned delicatessen itself or in the open air courtyard; and if your not dining but rather shopping for yourself or perhaps a special gift, there is such a wide variety of unique food and drink items available.

Fresh Produce at Relish Epicurea Barbados

The fresh produce is imported weekly and includes many items that are very difficult to locate in Barbados; a few include fingerling potatoes, avocados (year round), baby leeks, and heritage tomatoes. They are such a treat for the eyes (and of course your palette).

Wine and Cheese at Relish Epicurea Barbados

Relish Epicurea also imports a variety of high-end cheeses, wines, crackers and interesting condiments to compliment all of the previously stated.

Snacks at Relish Epicurea

There is also an abundance of fun and interesting snacks, teas, health items, ethnic foods and spices, meats, eggs and I could go on and on - all of course of the finest quality.

This and that at Relish Epicurea

It is clear the concept of Relish Epicurea is one based on fresh, quality, simple food in a fun and energetic atmosphere. This combination leads to a fabulous dining and shopping experience, one we had the pleasure to experience. Stay tuned, for next time we will be reviewing the food Relish has to offer!
