27th April, 2012
Lets Celebrate National Heroes Day

Today is National Heroes Day here in Barbados and we over at Loop Barbados want to join the rest of the Barbadians in recognizing these magnificent people for their outstanding achievements that positively changed Barbados and made it into the island it is. Included among these heroes are:
* Errol Barrow - The father of Barbadian Independence
* Sir Grantley Adams - The first Premier of Barbados
* Bussa - The leader of Barbados's longest slave revolt
* Sarah Ann Gill - One of the strongest social and religious leaders during slavery
* Samuel Jackman Prescod - Renowned politician, humanitarian and journalist
* Sir Frank Walcott - An international figure in trade unionism
* Charles Duncon O'Neal - A medical doctor who dedicated most of his working life to the poor.
* Sir Garfield Sobers - An outstanding sportsman and a legend in cricket
* Clement Osbourne Payne - A Barbadian Pioneer in the Caribbean Trade Union Movement
* Sir Hugh Springer - Barbados's third native Governor General.

So Happy Heroes Day to each and every one of Barbados's heroes! You more than deserve this recognition!
