Barbados 101: New Things to do in Barbados

17th October, 2013
Stand up paddle boarding in Barbados

Whether you have visited Barbados before or not, we at Loop Barbados are committed to making sure you have the best experience possible when you are on vacation in our sunny little paradise, Barbados! We decided to create a list of the more recently acclaimed things to do in Barbados.

The first activity we would like to mention is Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUPing). Very recently, this calming, yet active sport has skyrocketed in Barbados. From a relaxing paddle up and down the West coast, to yoga classes on the water, to paddles around the island for the more advanced, paddleboarding/SUPing has really become the “thing to do.” There are many surf companies that offer paddleboarding as a new activity, such as WhatSUP Barbados. For more information and special offers, you can visit their Facebook page, here.

Segway tours are also a new activity in Barbados that are fun and exciting! Taking part in a Segway tour will leave you with incredible memories and some of the best views of our island you could ever imagine! We really recommend Segway if you want to experience something different and exciting! It truly is a fantastic way to spend your day! The tour guides are friendly and helpful and make it a safe and enjoyable experience for you and the whole family or all of your friends! To get in touch with Segway Barbados or to get a glimpse at what they offer, check out their website, here.

For an after-dinner drink, to celebrate with a toast, or for a date night in a beautiful location, you must visit Drift Ocean Terrace Lounge. Drift overlooks the magnificent platinum coast in Barbados and is open Thursday through Sunday from 5.30pm. Drift is inspired by the ocean and is a new, unique and trendy lounge. Drift takes sophistication, comfort, and style to another level and that is also shown off in their selection of wines and cocktails. Drift Ocean Terrace Lounge is also an art exhibition – talk about classy! For  more details about Drift Ocean Terrace Lounge, take a look at their website, here.
